Alana Boden

Alana Boden did not start out in front of a film camera. Her initial training was in high-level competitive rhythmic gymnastics, and that physical discipline still shows in the way she commands the screen. By age nine, she already understood the rigor of others' scrutiny and the pressure of the stopwatch.

In 2014, she landed her first television credit in the series Mr Selfridge. It was a brief role. But it helped her confirm that a film set was a far more predictable environment than the gymnastics mat where she competed for medals.

Technique is her refuge.

The Leap to the Big Leagues

In 2022, the Los Angeles film industry came knocking to take part in Uncharted. Playing a younger version of Chloe Frazer meant facing a fan base that is very demanding about the original video game material. Boden handled the challenge with a naturalness that sidestepped the usual criticism of this kind of adaptation.

And the risk paid off.

That same 2022, she took part in the miniseries Flowers in the Attic: The Origin. It was a demanding project in which the storytelling required constant emotional restraint alongside industry veterans. In family dramas like this, silence often says more than any line of dialogue shouted into the air.

In the film The Invitation (2022), she took on the role of Lucy. The movie earned 38 million dollars at the global box office on a modest budget. It was a genre exercise in which Boden handled the timing of the suspense without falling into the recurring tics of commercial horror.

Shoots Among Sharks

In 2024, she moved to the coast of Australia to film The Surfer. Sharing the cast with Nicolas Cage requires a level of intensity that not every up-and-coming actor of her generation can sustain without fading into the background. Director Lorcan Finnegan wanted a presence that would balance the visual chaos of the project, and Boden delivered.

But acting isn't the only thing that seems to fill her schedule. Boden has shown interest in post-production processes and how British studios work behind the scenes. So her career stays away from the tabloid spotlight and focuses on long-term contracts and technical stability.

In 2024, she also premiered Tarot. The supernatural horror production was shot mainly in Belgrade, Serbia, under controlled lighting conditions. The production used high-definition cameras set up to capture minimal light on the closed sets of the recording studio.
