Aida Domènech first stepped into an acting school in Barcelona long before the idea of a content creator existed. She wanted to make dramatic films. For two years she memorized theater scripts between Madrid and the Catalan capital while paying her bills folding T-shirts at fast-fashion stores.
Nobody gave her a chance in the casting calls of the time.
In 2009, she opened a digital blog under the pseudonym Dulceida. That homemade website, fed with low-resolution still photos shot on a timer, served as a workshop where she learned to look into the lens without blinking. She soon understood that the closed frame of the home monitor offered a far more raw relationship with the viewer than any traditional casting audition.
In 2016, she stepped into mainstream television as a styling teacher on the show Quiero ser, broadcast by Mediaset. The format clashed with the routines of traditional broadcasting and was abruptly moved between channels after posting a modest 3.6% audience share in its premiere. After all, on commercial television nobody gives away ad minutes. That stumble on set taught her the rules of other people's editing.
The Spanish film industry took ten years to call on her. In 2019, Juana Macías cast her in the comedy Under the Same Roof, a Feelgood Media production in which Domènech barely delivered three lines of dialogue behind a bar.
Her move into dramatic work came that same 2019 during the third season of Paquita Salas. Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi realized they should not push her toward a method performance, but instead blend her with her own identity in a satire about show business committees. The bit landed with easy comic timing opposite Belén Cuesta.
And the industry began to see her as a box office draw.
But screen work demands physical stamina and endless waits in the van. In 2020, she joined the independent comedy Válidas, written by Carolina Iglesias and Victoria Martín. A year later she recorded a cameo in The Boarding School: Las Cumbres for Prime Video, where she handled camera marks and night lighting setups on locations in northern Spain.
In 2022, Domènech took on the executive production of her own private life with Dulceida Uncovered, a nonfiction series produced by Producciones Mandarina for Amazon's platform. The show dropped the idyllic filter to portray clinical anxiety crises, a temporary separation from her partner and contract tensions in her agency's offices.
The private confessional became paid content.
In 2023, director Pau Freixas added her to the cast of the series Citas Barcelona, distributed jointly by TV3 and Prime Video. Domènech defended her episode with a natural delivery and a measured use of silence alongside classically trained actors. So the move into hosting shows seemed like the next step in her professional agenda.
In 2026, she signed a contract with the Catalan public broadcaster 3Cat to host the format La gran cita. The show used a computer algorithm to pair 50 couples from 3,000 hopefuls and hired two certified intimacy coordinators to supervise the contestants' physical boundaries during filming.
Despite its ratings among viewers under thirty, the premiere of Dulceida Uncovered in 2022 was sunk on FilmAffinity with an average rating of 3.1 out of 10, after collecting hundreds of negative votes in its first forty-eight hours on air.
