Kornthas Rujeerattanavorapan was born in March 2000, and his first real contact with the camera was not a leading role. He started with brief appearances in 2017 in the series Please Her. But the Thai industry runs on waves of visibility, and the young actor quickly understood that looks are just a calling card that expires soon.
In 2018, he played Kengkla in Love by Chance. He was a supporting character who unexpectedly caused a buzz on social media thanks to his intensity. Audiences connected with the mix of manipulation and vulnerability. That response from viewers led the writers to give him more screen time than originally planned.
That year changed his schedule forever.
Before turning twenty, he already had a level of fame that reached beyond Bangkok. But instead of repeating the same sweet-student role, he chose projects with more demanding physical work. He signed up for dramatic acting workshops to refine a diction that sounded somewhat flat in his early work.
Netflix set its sights on him for The Stranded in 2019. It was the platform's first original Thai production, and the shoot was grueling because of the weather conditions on the islands. He played Gun in a survival story that moved away from traditional high school romance. That decision to step away from the easy route gave him the reputation of a serious actor in the eyes of veteran producers.
In 2020, he took part in Long Khong. The horror series required him to tackle registers he had not explored before. In genre film, it is not enough to look good under the spotlight. You have to know how to scream and convey a panic that feels believable to the viewer watching late at night at home.
Discipline on set became his greatest tool.
His castmates often point out that he arrives at rehearsals with his lines memorized down to the last detail. In an industry where improvisation is sometimes used to cover a lack of preparation, Kornthas's discipline stands out. So directors began entrusting him with roles where the weight of the story rested squarely on his shoulders.
His project Bite Me in 2021 presented a different technical challenge. He had to learn professional cooking techniques so his hands would look natural in the close-ups of knife work. His chemistry with his co-star was the engine of the series, but critics noticed his control of silence during the tense cooking scenes.
It wasn't all smooth sailing.
In 2023, he joined the cast of The Middleman's Love and Bed Friend. These productions run on very tight shooting schedules and demand quick reactions. He worked under the direction of Thanamin Wongskulphat, on days that sometimes stretched past fourteen hours of actual work on set.
By 2024, his name became permanently linked to The Boy Next World. The production closed its casting phase with a budget that exceeded the initial expectations of production company Mandee Work. The contract includes a one-and-a-half-year exclusivity clause for promotional events in Southeast Asia and an already signed international distribution plan.
