A slim young guy in a gray hoodie raps about staying out of trouble while half a dozen onlookers film him on their cell phones. The scene takes place in 2017 in a square in Córdoba, some 700 kilometers from the Buenos Aires circuit where Argentina's new wave of urban music was taking shape. Paulo Londra never wanted to fit the mold of the street thug or rely on underworld slang to sound credible on the mic.
He made music without poses or alibis.
In January 2017, he uploaded Relax to YouTube, a homemade video shot on a cheap DSLR camera that racked up millions of views in just a few weeks without a single euro spent on advertising. Those numbers changed the plans of record label offices in Buenos Aires and opened the door to his international breakthrough.
The leap from improvisation battles in public squares to studios in Colombia happened at breakneck speed. In 2018, he traveled to Medellín to work with the production company Big Ligas, founded by producer Daniel Oviedo and businessman Cristian Salazar. The songs came together with astonishing ease and hit dance floors across half of Europe instantly.
The impact of Nena Maldición and the world premiere of Adán y Eva turned the Córdoba-born artist into the Spanish-speaking musician with the most streams on global streaming charts.
In May 2019, the record label released Homerun, a debut album that sold hundreds of thousands of copies and led him to sing with Ed Sheeran. But behind the spotlight, the business partnership fell apart completely. Using the excuse of shooting footage for a music video, the company's partners asked him to sign a series of legal documents that exclusively assigned his copyrights and recording rights until 2025.
And the trap snapped shut.
For two and a half years, the artist could not release a single track under his own name. The airtight contract barred any distribution outside the Colombian label, abruptly halting a commercial career that filled stadiums across Latin America and festivals in Spain. That forced standstill completely upended the business plans.
Because a long silence in the digital age often amounts to disappearing.
The case ended up in a Miami court.
In November 2021, both parties reached a confidential out-of-court settlement to permanently sever their business ties after months of federal litigation. The move cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and an irrecoverable administrative standstill at the peak of his career.
In March 2022, he broke his silence with Plan A, a single built on punk-style drum patterns that debuted at No. 2 on the Spotify global chart. Eight months later, he released Back to the Game, a sixteen-track album on which he shared the studio with Timbaland and Travis Barker.
So he had to win back lost ground by competing against an algorithm that doesn't forgive absences.
In 2025, he released the short project VERSUS to reconnect with the cold metrics of rap battles. In 2026, he wrapped up his international tour with a sold-out crowd of forty-five thousand fans at Lima's National Stadium, before locking himself away to produce his next album.
In October 2026, he released entre CIELOS, an album of ten tracks produced by Lisan Beat and Tiano, with a focus on angelical sound.
For the final mix and mastering of the album, he worked with engineer Brian Taylor, who adjusted the dynamic range for spatial audio copies at 24 bits and 48 kHz.
