Qi Peixin

The Face of the New Chinese Drama

Qi Peixin broke into the Beijing industry with a supporting actor label stuck to their forehead. In 2019, they played Jin Ling in the series The Untamed, and the Asian market became obsessed with their angry-child expression. It was a complex production with multimillion-dollar budgets that sent their name trending on the Weibo social network for months.

Before filming this period drama, they went through an intense physical training program to handle the sword and the body language of the wuxia genre. The success of the series did not depend only on the main plot. It depended on supporting characters like them who brought real emotional weight to a digital fantasy setting.

In 2019, they also appeared in the film The Living Dead, a project building on their earlier work, in which they carried most of the narrative almost on their own. But fame in China often comes with fierce scrutiny that does not forgive youthful mistakes.

The Private Life Setback

At the end of 2019, a personal scandal broke out that put their future at the major studios at risk. Leaked details about their love life made brands think twice before signing new endorsement deals. They did not seek redemption through tearful interviews or empty statements. They simply returned to film sets to work on lower-budget roles where they could rebuild their reputation from the ground up. That is how Sweet First Love came along in 2020, a production where they traded silk robes for streetwear and college problems.

The Resistance of the Roaring Twenties

In 2021, they took part in One and Only and showed that their ability to fit into historical dramas remained intact despite the outside noise. Audiences began to value their technical work over the gossip on internet forums. In 2022, they filmed The Science of Falling in Love, a series aimed at a younger audience connected to technology.

Signed their most significant contract in recent years in 2023 for the series Lady's Character.

In this project, they played a character with more mature nuances that definitively moved them away from the teen roles of their early career. It was a strategic move to avoid getting stuck in the market for young idols whose appeal expires at thirty.

In 2024, she joined the cast of The Legend of Shen Li, one of the most anticipated productions thanks to its advanced visual effects and a first-rate cast. Filming of her scenes took place at the Hengdian studios under extreme weather conditions. The series had a technical crew of more than five hundred people.
