Walton Sanders Goggins, Jr. (Birmingham, Alabama, November 10, 1971) is an American actor, best known for his leading role in the FX Networks original series The Shield, playing Detective Shane Vendrell, and as the renegade Chris Mannix in Tarantino's film The Hateful Eight (2015).

Goggins was born in Alabama and raised in Lithia Springs, Georgia, where his grandmother ran the local post office. When he was ten years old, Goggins and his mother were the state clogging champions. When B. B. King was touring, Goggins and his mother opened a concert for him at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

He produced the 2001 short film The Accountant, which won an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film and, although he was not officially listed as a winner, went on stage during the ceremony to accept the award alongside Ray McKinnon and Lisa Blount.
