Nobody survives two decades in front of the cameras without understanding the machinery of show business.

Wanda Nara first came to the attention of the general public in late 2005 on the Buenos Aires revue stage with Humor en custodia. In that vaudeville of comics and showgirls, no one predicted more than two summers of tabloid fame for her.

But she learned the rules of the business before her own managers did.

And the gamble paid off.

From Milan Studios to Free-to-Air Television

In 2018, she signed on to the Italian sports program Tiki Taka to sit across from European soccer analysts. She ran her husband's contract renewals with an iron fist and turned every Sunday broadcast into a corporate statement. She secured multimillion-dollar deals while Inter Milan executives tried to figure out a relentless negotiator who wouldn't give up a single euro of commission.

In 2020, she took on the role of commentator on Grande Fratello VIP, and in 2023 she won the Ballando con le stelle competition on RAI. Her status in Italy was unquestioned. So Telefe decided to entrust her with hosting MasterChef Argentina in 2023.

Specialized critics predicted a ratings disaster without the appeal of family scoops. Despite the unfavorable forecasts, the show closed its season by winning a Martín Fierro award for Breakthrough of the Year.

In 2024, she signed with Netflix to host Love Is Blind Argentina alongside Darío Barassi, and months later she took over Bake Off Famosos Argentina. Live TV no longer required her to answer to anyone.

Filming in Montevideo and the Leap to the Big Screen

The movies were missing.

For years she turned down scripted roles because the pace of a traditional shoot clashed with her business schedule. In April 2026, she accepted the lead role in the comedy ¿Querés ser mi hijo? directed by Hernán Guerschuny. Filming took eighteen straight days, split between Buenos Aires and a hotel in the Carrasco neighborhood of Montevideo.

To prepare for the script, she hired acting coach Pablo Ini, trained in Actors Studio techniques. She shared scenes with Agustín Bernasconi and with seasoned performers such as Jean Pierre Noher and Charo López. The plot was an adaptation of a 2023 Mexican comedy about a mature executive who fakes a late pregnancy with her neighbor to land a job contract.

Box office verdicts show no mercy for fan favorites.

The film hit Argentine commercial theaters on October 22, 2026, backed financially by Zeppelin Studios and Cimarron Cine. Critics criticized the stiffness of her diction compared with stage actors, but the release landed prime showtimes at multiplexes across the region.

The distribution plan secured a short theatrical window before the film moved to video-on-demand platforms. The final production budget topped $1 million, covering crew travel, adaptation rights and sound post-production.
