City of Ember

Welcome to the city of Ember, where it is always night. The city was built underground, and the only lights that illuminate it, twelve hours a day, come from the street lamps. Beyond the city lie the Unknown Regions, which no one has explored yet. The people of Ember have lived comfortably for two hundred and fifty years, while their shops have remained well stocked. But one day the lights of the street lamps and spotlights begin to flicker. Everyone wonders what will happen when the central generator, which runs thanks to an underground river, breaks down completely. Lina, a thirteen-year-old girl, will try to discover, together with her friend Doon, the key to solving the serious situation Ember is facing. This will lead them to great adventures and to uncovering the mysteries that lie beyond the city.
