Ichi the Killer

A well-known Yakuza boss (the Japanese mafia) disappears along with a stash of 100 million yen. His right-hand man, the bloodthirsty masochist Kakihara, and the rest of the clan set out to find him, since they don't believe he ran off. To track him down, they will use any methods they see fit, whether torture or murder. Kakihara soon discovers that what they thought was a disappearance is actually a murder, committed by a man named Ichi, a schizophrenic who, when he loses control, can literally turn anyone into mincemeat. With this, he wants to make up for his childhood traumas, though he achieves the opposite. But Ichi is not alone in this fight: he is joined by the clan's outcasts, most notably Jijii, the leader of the group, who fuels the chaos that unfolds.
