The Name of the Rose

Fourteenth century. It all begins on a beautiful morning in late November 1327, when a Franciscan friar and former inquisitor, accompanied by his novice disciple, who narrates the story, arrives at a Benedictine abbey in northern Italy to try to solve a crime. During their stay, more monks mysteriously disappear, and they are later found dead. Little by little, thanks to information provided by some of the monks, William uncovers the facts. The motive for the crimes seems to be some ancient manuscripts kept in the abbey's library, which is said to be the largest in the Christian world. Who is the killer? What motivated the deaths of the victims? No one knows...
