Eva González

Eva González won the Miss España title in 2003, and her life changed completely at a gala broadcast from Marina d’Or. She was 22 years old. She left Mairena del Alcor to join a TV circuit that was quickly churning through similar profiles back then. But she held her ground.

In 2004, she appeared in several episodes of the series 7 vidas. It was her first real introduction to national fiction, and there she discovered that the camera wanted her as much as fashion brands did.

And the plan worked.

The reality TV business

In 2013, public television hired her to host MasterChef. The format had been a hit abroad, and in Spain it needed a face that could balance out the toughness of the judges. For six years, she coordinated the recordings of fifteen seasons across the adult, kids, and celebrity versions.

In 2018, she decided to break her contract with the public broadcaster and move to the competition in a strategic move that shook industry offices because of the million-dollar figures involved in that signing.

Ambition was not just about money.

Taking control of the big formats

In 2019, she premiered La Voz at her new television home. The show required live control that she already handled with technical precision. At those production levels, a two-second mistake can cost a fortune in advertising.

Her time in scripted TV was brief but steady. In 2008, she worked on the series La tira and has recurringly appeared in special programs.

She isn't after the Goya and doesn't need it.

In 2022, she confirmed her separation after years of media pressure. The impact on her image was nil because her bond with the audience is stronger than any press exclusive. In 2024, she remains one of the TV hosts with the highest earnings per minute on Spanish television.
