Gao Rong Fang was born in 1996, and her entry into the industry was no casting accident or lucky social media break. She studied at the Communication University of China because she knew that craft matters more than luck in a market as saturated as Asia's.

Discipline was her first tool.

In 2017, she debuted in the series The Elves. It was a small role, but it taught her how real timing works on a professional film set. Before shooting, she reads the script until she has memorized her co-stars' pauses, because she doesn't like to improvise without a solid foundation.

And the gamble paid off.

The Year That Changed Everything

Nobody expected The Untamed to become the phenomenon it did in 2019. Gao played A-Qing and had to handle a character who is blind, in a plot loaded with symbolism and dramatic tension. That shoot lasted months under extreme weather conditions at the Hengdian studios.

But she wasn't looking for personal glory.

Local critics praised her ability to convey anguish without relying on her gaze. In that project, the supporting cast carried the emotional weight while the leads handled the pure action. That's when her name started to come up in the offices of Beijing's most important casting directors.

Big-Budget Supporting Roles

She agreed to take part in The Long Ballad in 2021. She wasn't chasing the spotlight, since she prefers the security of a good script to a poster with her face in big letters. On this period production, she had to adapt to a military-style work pace, where twelve-hour days were the norm.

The Chinese industry is voracious and demands a constant presence.

In 2023, she joined the cast of Legend of Anle. She worked alongside top-tier names, and her screen time was limited to a few very specific but emotionally powerful scenes. Her fee rose twenty percent after the series premiered on streaming platforms.

In 2024, she took part in The Legend of Shen Li. It's a massive-budget production where CGI dominates nearly every shot in post-production, and the actors' work becomes purely technical.

She shot her scenes in just three weeks.

Her contract for 2025 includes two suspense dramas that are already in final editing. The total budget for these productions exceeds one hundred million yuan, and filming took place entirely on studio sets.
