Martina Klein arrived in Barcelona at twelve years old with a suitcase full of uncertainty. It was 1988. She wasn't looking for the runway, but the runway found her before she finished high school. Her face began appearing on billboards across half of Europe while she worked for labels such as Pertegaz and Jean Paul Gaultier.
In the 1990s, fashion was a job of physical endurance and airports. She kept up the pace without losing her bearings.
Her change of pace came with national television. In 2010, she agreed to take part in El club del chiste. It was a risky decision, since the public only knew her from her static images in high-fashion magazines. But she proved she had a natural comedic timing that few expected from a model of her caliber.
And audiences connected with her.
That show on La Sexta worked as a testing ground. Klein learned to handle live timing and the pressure of a massive audience. Later came guest spots on programs such as Celebrities or Planeta Calleja in 2015, where she showed a much more down-to-earth side, far from luxury.
Her move into scripted film reached a turning point in 2015 with the movie Solo química. In this comedy directed by Alfonso Albacete, she played a famous actress caught in the web of the tabloid press. It wasn't a leading role, but it proved her ability to inhabit characters outside her usual range.
The industry doesn't always make things easy for those who come from fashion.
Klein decided to diversify her creative energy when the volume of acting projects slowed down. In 2017, she published Zaska, her first children's book. But her most personal project came with the launch of her own home décor brand in 2020. The label is called K01, and it was created to professionalize her passion for interior design and functional aesthetics.
In 2024, she maintains her media presence through occasional collaborations and the development of her design brand. Her voice work in animated films such as Tadeo Jones 2 in 2017 remains one of her most specific technical credits. The registration of her K01 brand with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office is held under her own limited company.
