From Radio Waves to the Recording Studio

Puttichai Kasetsin never chased the spotlight desperately. Early on, he preferred the anonymity of a radio booth at Chill FM 89. There, his voice was the only draw for an audience that didn't yet know his face.

By 2010, his presence on the airwaves in Bangkok was constant. But the jump to the small screen didn't happen overnight. He took on small supporting roles that barely left a mark on national TV ratings.

Thai audiences are demanding when it comes to their idols.

In 2015, the series Leh Ratree changed the industry's view of his ability to lead projects. He played a cold, calculating man who clashed head-on with his public image as a friendly DJ. He made viewers forget his radio career and accept him as an actor capable of carrying a serious drama.

And the gamble paid off.

During 2016, he starred in U-Prince Series: Handsome Cowboy. He became a youth phenomenon whose popularity crossed the borders of Thailand. His face began appearing on billboards in China and Vietnam. But Puttichai did not want to be trapped in the role of teen heartthrob forever, so he looked for scripts with much darker psychological themes.

The Risks of Interpretive Maturity

In 2019, he took on the role of Chatchavee in The Fallen Leaf. The plot explored complex themes of identity and family revenge in a conservative social context. The series reached massive audience peaks on channel One 31 and earned him professional respect that awards often overlook.

Because the actor has always preferred fieldwork to the red carpet. He married actress Warattaya Nilkuha in 2018 after a courtship closely followed by the press. The couple kept a low profile in an environment where exhibitionism is the norm.

The media noise never affected his filming schedule.

In 2022, he led the cast of Finding the Rainbow alongside Nichkhun. The production used Thailand's economic changes as a backdrop for a romance spanning three decades of history. It was an ambitious technical project that demanded absolute control over dramatic timing.

During 2023, he filmed Faceless Love, playing a senior executive with face blindness. That same year, he appeared in Patiharn Rak for the PPTV network. In these projects, the actor avoided the usual romantic-drama clichés to focus on the character's physical details.

By the end of 2024, his personal production company began managing international distribution rights for his content on streaming platforms. Control of his public image is now governed by contracts that limit his appearances on broadcast television to a maximum of two projects per season.
