Simone Baldasseroni burst onto the public radar with platinum hair and an attitude bordering on the arrogance needed to survive in rap. In 2017 he took part in the show Amici di Maria De Filippi under the alias Biondo. He wasn't seeking an acting career because his obsession was the mic.
The Italian industry saw in him something more than a catchy chorus.
In 2020 he made his big-screen debut in the comedy È per il tuo bene. He worked alongside heavyweights of Italian cinema such as Marco Giallini and Vincenzo Salemme. That experience forced him to set his musical persona aside and learn how camera work functioned. But the real change didn't happen right away.
And the gamble paid off.
During those early years, he balanced studio recording sessions with casting calls looking for young, magnetic talent. In 2021 he appeared in Siamo solo piatti spaiati and in the TV movie Crazy for Football. His on-screen presence was no longer that of a rapper making a cameo; it was that of an actor building a craft.
In 2024, the project that changed his career scale arrived. Netflix premiered Fabbricante di lacrime, an adaptation of Erin Doom's bestselling novel. Baldasseroni took on the role of Rigel, a dark and complex character that demanded a dramatic range far removed from his usual public image. The film hit No. 1 worldwide on the platform in its first week of release.
Rome always brings him back to his roots.
Despite the media noise, he kept a low profile about his private life. In 2024, Italian critics praised his ability to hold close-ups without needing dialogue. It's rare for an artist coming out of a music talent show to make such a clean transition into genre cinema. But Baldasseroni avoided the common mistakes of his predecessors.
Before filming L'ispettore Coliandro in 2021, he had already started working with acting coaches. He knew fame on television is fleeting and that film demands a different kind of endurance. So he chose projects that didn't rely solely on his social media following.
In 2024 his name became linked to new European productions looking to export young Italian talent. He signed high-profile advertising contracts with fashion brands that made the most of his polished look. But film remained his absolute priority over the runway or the stage.
Filming of his next international project in 2025 has a production budget exceeding seven million euros.
