Vincent Andrew Schiavelli was a Sicilian-American actor, notable for his work in theater, film and television.

Schiavelli made his film debut in 1971 with Hair, directed by Czech-born Miloš Forman, who cast him in many of his later projects. With Forman, he gave some of his most acclaimed performances, such as the lunatic Frederickson in Atrapado sin salida / One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and Salieri's valet in Amadeus (1984), and also appeared in films such as Valmont (1989), The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996) and Man on the Moon (1999).

Standing 1.96 meters tall, with a face that could turn into a gloomy mask, Schiavelli played unforgettable supporting roles, such as in Ghost (1990), where he was the moody New York subway ghost who helped Patrick Swayze's character navigate the material world. The actor played more than a hundred characters in film and television, with appearances in shows ranging from Starsky & Hutch and Miami Vice to The X-Files.
