The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain

Year 1917. Two retired army officers and professional cartographers, Reginald Anson (Hugh Grant) and George Garrard (Ian McNeice), arrive in the small village of Fynnon Garw, where the government has commissioned them to draw a new map of Wales. The villagers, simple but very stubborn people, are very proud of a nearby hill they call “the first mountain in Wales.” When Anson, after taking the proper measurements, tells them it is not a mountain but a hill, the whole village bands together to correct this mistake of nature.
