What Season 1 of Alias Grace
Upper Canada, 1843. Grace Marks is a young Irish immigrant working as a domestic servant who is convicted of the murder of her employer, Thomas Kinnear, and of the housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery. Dr. Simon Jordan, an American psychiatrist, becomes interested in the case and begins treating her. Meanwhile, Reverend Verrenger is part of a committee seeking her pardon. Grace's memories are the heart of the season: her friendship with Mary Whitney, her relationship with Nancy and the figure of James McDermott, whose confession weighed on her conviction. The series asks whether she committed the crimes or was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
