What Season 1 of Planet Earth

Planet Earth is a documentary series from the BBC Natural History Unit, narrated by David Attenborough. It starts with the whole planet: the first episode, "From Pole to Pole," travels the globe from one end to the other and looks at the forces that shaped its natural history. Each of the eleven episodes explores a different biome, such as mountains, caves, or jungles. The common thread is the struggle to survive in extreme places, from the cold of the poles to the lack of rain in deserts. At the end of each installment, a roughly ten-minute featurette shows how the scenes were filmed and what obstacles had to be overcome.
