Synopsis of The Snow Girl

Málaga, 2010. During the Three Kings Day parade, little Amaya Martín disappears into the crowd and no one ever sees her again. Miren Rojo, a journalist in training played by Milena Smit, decides to investigate the case on her own. She is aided by Eduardo, a veteran journalist brought to life by José Coronado, and together they follow leads and track down witnesses. Meanwhile, Inspector Belén Millán, played by Aixa Villagrán, investigates the case from within the police force. The series, streaming on Netflix and based on Javier Castillo's novel, follows the race against time to find a girl who has left almost no trace.

Trivia about The Snow Girl

It was the first Spanish miniseries to reach the global TOP 1 on Netflix, in both English-language and non-English-language series, and it went on to rank No. 1 in 34 countries.

In April 2021, Netflix acquired three Spanish novels to adapt into series, including The Snow Girl, by Javier Castillo.

Filming began in Málaga on February 8, 2022, with the cast already confirmed.

Netflix renewed the series for a second season on March 28, 2023, titled The Snow Girl 2: El juego del alma.

Miki Esparbé joined the cast as Jaime, a new colleague of Miren Rojo at the newspaper Sur who does not appear in Javier Castillo's novels.

José Coronado, Aixa Villagrán, Marco Cáceres, Hugo Welzel, Luis Callejo, Luis Bermejo and Vicente Romero joined or returned to their roles in the second season alongside Milena Smit.
