What Season 1 of Them
In 1953, Lucky and Henry Emory leave North Carolina with their two daughters and settle in a Los Angeles neighborhood inhabited only by white neighbors. The tree-lined street seems peaceful, but the family home soon becomes the focus of a hostility that grows by the day. Betty Wendell, a racist housewife, has set out to drive them out of the neighborhood. Meanwhile, otherworldly forces begin to haunt them. Lucky, played by Deborah Ayorinde, and Henry, played by Ashley Thomas, must protect their family from the threat. The season portrays the fear of a Black family searching for a home in 1950s America.
