Devrim Özkan was born in Muğla in 1998. She grew up far from the spotlight of Istanbul while studying at the Fine Arts faculty in her hometown. Those formative years at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University laid the foundations for an acting method that prioritizes silence over shouting.
In 2017, she made her debut in the series Rüya. It was a supporting role that barely hinted at the magnetism she would show years later. But it helped put her name on the casting directors' priority lists at the major Turkish production companies.
And the industry doesn't usually wait for anyone.
She takes on long-running projects where physical endurance matters as much as talent. Before filming, she reads the script looking for the cracks in her character. Because Özkan prefers roles that don't have all the answers from the very first episode.
Her career shifted gears in 2019 with Vuslat. She played Feride Günay for two seasons and 44 episodes. The series explored Sufi concepts and dense family drama that demanded a restraint rare on Turkish commercial television.
She built a woman who spoke more with her eyes than with dialogue. As a result, audiences responded immediately to that controlled vulnerability. The series reached notable ratings peaks in prime time and moved her out of the supporting actress circuit.
After wrapping that chapter in 2020, she joined the cast of Ramo. There she played Nehir and shared the screen with big names in the Ottoman scenes. It was a technical trial by fire in an action and suspense setting where the shooting pace was frantic.
The audience responded right away.
In 2022, she took on the role of Songül in Gelsin Hayat Bildiği Gibi. It was a risky bet. Playing a police commissioner with a difficult past required a level of physical preparation that Özkan had not explored until then.
The series ran until the middle of 2023 for a total of 41 episodes. It drew an average audience that exceeded expectations for Show TV on one of the most competitive nights of the season. It was the project that moved her away from purely romantic storylines.
Television was no longer enough.
In 2024, she starred in the film Mavi Mağara alongside Kerem Bürsin. The screenplay for this feature moves away from episodic structure in favor of a more cinematic, unhurried narrative. Özkan joined the project seeking international exposure that daily series, with their grueling schedules, often limit.
But she never left the format that made her famous. In 2023, she starred in Ne Gemiler Yaktım, playing Fidan. The Ay Yapım production explored sisterhood and survival in a hostile environment. The series ended its run in 2024 after eight episodes shot entirely on location in Istanbul.
The actress is represented by the agency Icon Talent. Her fees per episode on major Istanbul productions place her among the top earners of her generation. In 2024, her presence at international television festivals became a regular occurrence.
Filming of Mavi Mağara wrapped with an estimated budget of several million Turkish lira.
