Ray Galletti isn't a face that stops traffic on Broadway, but his jawline has appeared in nearly every series that matters. He was born in Montreal in 1974. He started out working on local productions before realizing that the money and the volume of work were in Vancouver. Early on, Galletti took whatever came his way, because in this business hunger is cured with hours on set.
In 2005, he joined the world of Stargate SG-1. It was a brief appearance. But roles like this in Canadian science fiction work as a crash course in technical survival. The actor learned early that consistency pays better than fleeting stardom.
Hollywood doesn't hand out anything for free.
And his bet on quiet hard work paid off. In 2006, he appeared in Battlestar Galactica, and that gave him the push he needed to look south. Los Angeles didn't roll out the red carpet, but Galletti had already developed the thick skin needed to endure the waiting between auditions.
His arrival on American television was no fireworks display. It was a steady stream of authoritative characters. In 2009, he appeared in 24, playing an FBI agent. That role defined much of his later career because casting directors saw in him a man who could convey seriousness without saying a word.
That was his entry into the global market.
But success in cable television requires thick skin. For 2012, he worked on Arrow, playing police officer Dominick Alonzo. During that period, superhero shoots were starting to fill the schedule, and Galletti managed to stay relevant without getting trapped in a single register. He amassed more than seventy official credits in barely two decades of nonstop work.
In 2013, he shot Hemlock Grove for Netflix. The series explored gothic horror and let him step away from police uniforms for a while. But the reality of a supporting actor is that the uniform always comes knocking back.
Galletti has built his career on medical and legal dramas. In 2020, he appeared in The Good Doctor, playing Dr. Kalu. He wasn't chasing the spotlight. He was after steady work. Producers often hire him because he shows up to the set with his lines learned and never causes delays in the shooting schedule.
And the work keeps coming.
In 2022, he joined the cast of The Flash to play a detective in season eight. It was a return to his roots in Vancouver, where most of these CW productions are filmed. His career logistics have always swung between Canada and California, depending on the tax incentives in each region.
In 2023, he finished his run on the series Family Law, shooting on sets in Vancouver under strict production protocols and a budget tightened by industry inflation. His contract closed with a standard confidentiality clause covering residual benefits from international distribution.
