Star Tower

Each take comes with its own set of props: pick a piece, place it where you want, rotate it and drop it. It falls straight down, so order and the support point are everything.

How to play

  • Choose a piece: the tray below holds all the props for the shot. Pick up the pieces in any order you like: the one that comes up next is rarely the right one.
  • Place and rotate it: each piece appears to the side, off the platform. The ghost piece follows your mouse or finger across the entire set and cannot touch anything. With the keyboard, each arrow tap moves it 10 cm. Q and E, the wheel, or ⟲ ⟳ rotate it 15° (5° with Shift).
  • Drop it: it falls straight down from where you release it. If its center of gravity isn't over the support, it tips over. The lower you drop it, the less it bounces.
  • The goal: place all the pieces and clear the bar, get them all above a line or balance a seesaw, and hold steady for a few seconds without anything falling.
  • Three clapperboards: each piece that falls off the platform, breaks or touches a spotlight uses up one and returns to the tray. Without clapperboards, it's a wrap!
  • Tricky sets: two platforms with a gap, seesaws, hanging spotlights you must not touch, a swaying deck, gusts of wind and tremors.

Pieces and helpers

  • Crates, beams and box office hits: the base of any tower. Standing up they add height; lying down, more support.
  • Reels, balls, and ramps: round things roll, rubber bounces, and ramps slide. Put them on top or wedge them in place.
  • Glass and statuettes: sugar glass shatters under a hard hit, and the statuettes add weight at the top.
  • Glue (X): the next piece you drop sticks to whatever it touches first.
  • Freeze (C): the tower and the storm stay still for 6 seconds. Meanwhile, the shot clock stops running.
  • Slow motion (V): 8 seconds at half speed to place pieces calmly in the middle of the waves.
  • Undo (Z): removes the last piece you placed, if it's still standing, and returns it to the tray.

Helpers are earned by chaining perfect drops and getting three stars, and each take comes with its own.

Scoring and stars

  • +10Each piece that stays on the set.
  • +15Perfect!: centered over the piece below and well aligned. Consecutive perfect drops multiply your score up to ×3.
  • +20Per meter of height at the end of the shot, +25 for each clapperboard you keep and +10 for each unused help.
  • +50Phew, that was close!: if the tower wobbles during the countdown but still stays up.
  • ★Stars: one for clearing the level, one if no piece falls, and the third for par (time, golden bar or no helpers).
  • ∞Endless Tower: the tray always holds three random pieces. No height limit or finish line: every new meter adds up and the wind gets stronger.
