In 1999, Sophie Patterson, an eleven-year-old Scottish girl, travels to a resort in Turkey with her father, Calum, who is thirty. Calum moved to London after amicably separating from Sophie's mother, and now the two are spending a vacation away from home. Sophie carries a MiniDV camera and starts recording everything, from the pool to conversations on the terrace. While she watches other British teenage tourists at the hotel, Calum tries to make the trip a celebration. Written and directed by Charlotte Wells, the film stars Paul Mescal as Calum and Frankie Corio as Sophie.
