Filming lasted about nine weeks and took place in several locations across the Community of Madrid, Guadalajara, and the province of Huelva.

According to Spanish-language Wikipedia, the film had been seen by 3 272 677 viewers as of the date the source was consulted.

It was the biggest opening for a Spanish production since Tadeo Jones 2: The Secret of King Midas, back in August 2017.

The film won three Goya Awards, including Best Film and Best New Actor for Jesús Vidal.

In 2020, filming began on an Arabic remake with the same title, which premiered in cinemas in Saudi Arabia on March 10, 2022.

The film was selected to represent Spain at the 91th Academy Awards, in the Best International Feature Film category.

With a budget of €4.5 million and €1.4 million received from the ICAA, it went on to gross over €19 million at the box office and nearly 3.3 million viewers.
