The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc

In 1412, the Maid of Orléans is born in Domrémy, France. The Hundred Years' War against England has already lasted nearly a century and has devastated France. Joan is a deeply religious girl. After her first vision, she returns home and finds that the English have killed her family. A few years later, fully convinced that God has entrusted her with the mission of driving the English out of France, she goes to see the Dauphin, the future Charles VII, who provides her with troops to lift the siege of Orléans.
