How Far Would You Go to Become Someone Else?

Young and carefree in the middle of an idyllic landscape of sun-soaked Italy in the late 50: that is the dolce vita that Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) longs for, and that Dickie Greeleaf (Jude Law) enjoys. When Dickie's father, a wealthy shipbuilder, asks Tom to bring his son back home to America, Tom and Dickie's beautiful expatriate companion, Marge Sherwood (Gwyneth Paltrow), never suspect how far dangerous lengths Ripley will go to make the couple's lifestyle his own. After all, it's better to be a fake important person than a real nobody.
