What Season 1 of Endeavour

Oxford, 1960s. Endeavour Morse is a young uniformed officer who has just joined the criminal investigation department in Carshall-Newtown, but he is weary of the job and has already written his resignation letter. Before he can hand it in, his superiors send him to the Cowley police station to help search for a fifteen-year-old schoolgirl who has gone missing. The case forces him to rethink his future in a field that isn't his own. Shaun Evans plays this rookie Morse, a character the episodes shape as the investigation unfolds. The series is based on characters created by Colin Dexter and airs on ITV.

Following the shooting of a vicar, Morse is reduced to general duties for dismissing a beautiful, but mentally unstable girl as a suspect and must continue his investigations alone despite warnings of possible dismissal from his superiors.
