What Season 1 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

The series is set at a fictional version of East High, the Salt Lake City high school where the original movies were filmed. Miss Jenn, a former extra in those films, arrives as a drama teacher and decides that the winter show will be High School Musical. Nini, a musical fan, and Ricky, a guitarist and skater with no interest in the genre, end up with the lead roles. While they rehearse, the students must manage their personal relationships. E.J.'s jealousy over the role of Troy, Nini's distrust, and Ricky's attempt to win her back drive the plot.
