What Season 1 of Isabel

The first season of Isabel opens with the death of King Enrique IV and the preparations to proclaim Princess Isabel Queen of Castile. The series then flashes back to Arévalo, where the future queen grows up alongside her brother Alfonso and their mother, Isabel of Portugal. When the court in Segovia summons them, Isabel must be separated from her mother so the nobility cannot use them. Between 1461 and 1474, the story follows her hard road to the throne. Civil wars, negotiations with Enrique and the pressure from Carrillo and Pacheco mark every step. Michelle Jenner stars as Isabel, and Rodolfo Sancho plays Fernando, the man she marries.
