Isabel

Isabel is a historical series that airs on La 1 and portrays the life of Queen Isabel I of Castile, with Michelle Jenner in the lead role. The first episode opens with the death of King Henry IV and the preparations to proclaim Princess Isabel Queen of Castile. The story then goes back to the future queen's childhood in Arévalo, where she lives with her younger brother, Alfonso, and their mother, Isabel of Portugal. When her half-brother, the king, and his wife, Joan of Portugal, summon them to the court in Segovia, Isabel must separate from her mother so the nobility cannot use them. The first season covers the years 1461 to 1474 and follows her difficult path to the throne, as well as her marriage to Ferdinand, played by Rodolfo Sancho.
