Synopsis of Agatha Christie's Poirot

Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, played by David Suchet, investigates crimes in England in the mid-to-late 1930s. He is joined by two trusted associates: Captain Hastings, his closest friend, and his efficient secretary, Felicity Lemon. Together they face carefully planned deceptions, in which someone tries to hide a murder behind an apparently perfect alibi. Poirot must uncover the truth before the culprit escapes justice. Each case is based on a story by Agatha Christie, so the detective's challenge changes with every episode: unraveling elegant lies among characters who keep secrets. The series airs on the British network ITV.

The final episode, "Curtain, Poirot's Last Case," earned the series its first Emmy Award nomination in 2015, after a run of 25 years that adapted all 70 Poirot stories.
