Synopsis of Death in Paradise
Richard Poole, played by Ben Miller, is a gruff English detective with a very dry sense of humor. Sent from the London Metropolitan Police, he arrives in Saint-Marie, a fictional Caribbean island and British Overseas Territory with a French colonial past, to investigate the murder of a colleague. Poole doesn't want to be there and must work alongside the local police at Honoré's station. Each case is presented as a complicated puzzle, which he tries to solve with his deductive skills despite having little information. The series, created by Robert Thorogood, airs on BBC One.
