What Season 1 of Monster: The Ed Gein Story

Plainfield, Wisconsin, 1950s. Ed Gein is a kind-mannered man who lives isolated on a rundown farm. Charlie Hunnam plays this recluse, whose loneliness mixes with an unhealthy obsession with his mother and a psychological decline that accelerates unchecked. The season alternates his everyday life with the fictional works that were eventually inspired by him. Ian Brennan created this installment of the Monster anthology, produced for Netflix. The conflict arises from the gap between the real man and the myth the show has built around him, and it forces viewers to ask themselves how they consume real-life crimes.
