What Season 1 of The Chosen
The series is set in first-century Galilee and follows Jesus of Nazareth at the beginning of his band of disciples. It invites people from very different backgrounds to study with him: a woman suffering from demonic possession, a mason, a member of a choir, fishermen and a tax collector. Amid the conflicts, Simon and Andrew are burdened with debts to Rome, and Matthew, the tax collector, lives apart from his family and his town. In the Sanhedrin, Nicodemus, a Jewish teacher, tries to restore order as distrust grows toward the so-called messiah. His miracles attract those who decide to follow him. The season is seen through the eyes of those who knew him.
