What Season 1 of When Calls the Heart

Elizabeth Thatcher is a young schoolteacher used to high society who, in 1910, leaves the city to settle in Coal Valley, a small mining town in western Canada. There she faces a very different life, and her main goal is to teach the town's children. Little by little she wins over her neighbors and forms a friendship with Abigail Stanton, who has just lost her husband and son in a mining accident. Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer Jack Thornton annoys her from the very beginning, although their relationship starts to change. The town's investigations, the problems with the mining company, and Elizabeth's suitors shape the season.
