Without Breasts There Is No Paradise

Catalina Santana is a fifteen-year-old teenager living in poverty in Pereira, Colombia, with her mother, Hilda, and her brother, Bayron. The story takes place in 1996. Catalina is pretty, but she doesn't have a body as voluptuous as her friends, who cater to powerful drug lords. Her best friend, Yésica, has set up a business that recruits groups of women for whom the kingpins pay in advance. Dazzled by wealth, Catalina leaves Albeiro, her neighborhood boyfriend whom she loves, and decides to find someone who will pay for a silicone implant operation, convinced that this will bring her fame and money. The series, created by Gustavo Bolívar and aired on Telemundo, explores how far a young woman is willing to go to escape her poverty, even at the risk of her life and well-being.
