Synopsis of Rosario Tijeras (Mexico)

In Mexico City, Rosario Tijeras (Mexico) is a warrior raised in one of the poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods in the capital. Trivia about Rosario Tijeras (Mexico)

The idea came from TV Azteca, which showed interest in late February 2016 in making a version of the Colombian series of the same name that Sony Pictures Television and Teleset had produced for RCN Television.
Exterior scenes were filmed in the La Presa colony, on the southeastern slope of Cerro del Chiquihuite, in the municipality of Tlalnepantla de Baz, State of Mexico.
Sebastián Martínez, who had already appeared in the Colombian version as Emilio, joined in the second season playing Ángel Salgado.
In January 2019, it was announced that the third season would be the series' last, following a renewal confirmed in December 2018.
Netflix acquired the series on May 24, 2025, and the fourth season premiered on June 18, 2025.
The first season reached 12.4 million viewers with its final episode, which aired on January 30, 2017, compared with the 10.5 million recorded for its premiere.
The fourth season added Samantha Acuña as Ruby, Rosario's daughter, and Asbel Ramsés as Teo. It also brought in Anette Michel, Cecilia Toussaint, Roberto Sosa and Luis Fernando Peña.
Sony Pictures Television confirmed a fifth season after the series topped Mexican broadcast TV ratings and reached the top 10 on Netflix in Latin America; part of the main cast would return.
