Filming at Marienburg Castle demanded a physical discipline that reminded him of his years as a young soccer player.

His chemistry with his castmates and the restraint he brings to wealthy, tormented characters are already his signature. But Hardung keeps a cautious distance from fame. He doesn't live in Berlin or hang out in the usual German industry circles. He prefers the routine of his studies and the calm of his family home in Cologne.

Success hasn't changed his academic schedule.
