Danny Griffin did not grow up surrounded by scripts or film cameras. His early years were spent on a farm in Cornwall, where the silence was broken only by the sound of horses. That connection to professional horsemanship shaped his discipline long before acting came into his personal horizon.
At seventeen, he decided the countryside had grown too small for him. He packed his bags and moved to London with no clear safety net, but with the goal of studying drama. The city welcomed him with a modeling contract at Storm Management before it offered him a leading role.
It was a risky bet.
His on-camera debut came in 2017 with a brief appearance in the series So Awkward. It was not a glamorous start, but it taught him that the pace of filming demanded a patience that modeling does not always require. In 2018, he appeared in the stage play The Railway Children at the King's Cross Theatre, and there he confirmed that direct contact with audiences was his real driving force.
In 2019, he landed a supporting role in The Gentlemen under the direction of Guy Ritchie. It was a fast shoot. He worked alongside major names and learned that in commercial film, technical precision is worth as much as natural talent. But his real step up in scale came a little later.
Netflix selected him in 2021 to lead the male cast of Fate: The Winx Saga. Playing Sky meant facing a fandom that analyzed every gesture and every post on his social media. The series reached 57 million viewers in its first weeks on air, placing him in a position of full exposure that he handled by keeping a low profile.
And the machine didn't stop.
During the filming of the second season in 2022, the actor had to deal with the pressure of a global audience's expectations. The show's cancellation that same year brought a sudden halt to a career that seemed headed straight for youthful stardom. But Griffin used that gap to move away from teen roles and look for projects with a different tone.
Griffin is not an actor who relies on his looks alone. In 2020, he appeared in Get Even for the BBC, playing a character that required a different kind of restraint from his earlier work. His training as a competitive show jumper has allowed him to shoot action scenes without stunt doubles in many of his period and fantasy projects.
Despite his time in fashion, he prefers the chaos of a film set to the stillness of a photo shoot. In 2024, he joined the cast of the comedy Drugstore June, directed by Nicholaus Goossen. It was a new kind of work for him. He moved away from visual epics to try his luck in a world of dry humor and rapid-fire dialogue, shot entirely in the United States.
The project had an estimated budget of $5 million and was shot in just 20 days of actual work.
