Horror as a First School

Hannah Cheramy has that gaze that seems to understand horror before it happens. Born in Vancouver, she already knew what a professional film set was before turning thirteen. In 2016, she appeared in My Sweet Audrina. It was a small role, but it helped the local industry take notice of her.

In 2017, horror fully embraced her with The Hollow Child. She played Olivia in a story of disappearances and dark woods. Critics noted that her physical presence could carry tense scenes without a single word.

And the gamble paid off.

In 2016, she also joined the cast of Van Helsing, bringing Dylan to life across several stages of the project. It was physically demanding work that required long makeup sessions and constant emotional intensity. But that shoot ended for her in 2021.

The Nightmare Phenomenon on Screen

In 2022, she landed the role of Julie Matthews in From. Production moved to Nova Scotia to recreate that town no one can escape. Cheramy had to shoot emotionally intense scenes under the direction of Jack Bender.
