Indica Watson was born in London in 2010, and by the time other kids were learning to read, she already knew what a film set was. Her debut in The Missing during 2014 put her on the radar of British casting agencies. She didn't need big speeches to convince directors, because her physical presence was enough.
Before turning ten, she had already shared a scene with Benedict Cumberbatch. In 2017, she played the young version of Eurus Holmes in the series Sherlock. It was a brief but strangely unsettling role for an actress her age.
The industry realized that Watson was not a passing child prodigy.
During the filming of that episode, she worked under the direction of Benjamin Caron. But what really surprised the crew was her ability to process complex instructions without losing naturalness. As a result, offers for high-budget television dramas began arriving at her door steadily.
In 2019, she took on projects that demanded more dramatic weight than usual. She appeared in Deep Water and in the miniseries Gold Digger. In the latter, she played Charlotte and had to handle scripts exploring toxic family dynamics and dark secrets.
And the bet on realism paid off.
Watson avoids the usual habits of child actors who constantly seek the camera's approval. In 2019, she also joined the cast of Grantchester. Her name started appearing on casting lists for productions that required a specific and uncommon emotional maturity for her age range.
Unlike many of her generation's peers, she has kept a low public profile. Her parents manage her appearances and limit her media exposure to protect her education. Before filming any scene, she reads the full script together with her legal guardians.
In 2021, she made her big-screen debut in A Boy Called Christmas. The film was shot on location in Lapland and London under the direction of Gil Kenan. Watson played Little Noosh and shared the cast with names such as Maggie Smith and Kristen Wiig.
In 2022, she took on the role of Evie in The Midwich Cuckoos. It's a modern adaptation of John Wyndham's novel in which the children are at the heart of the conflict. Nearly six million viewers watched the series during its original broadcast in the United Kingdom on Sky.
Then came the definitive leap into the global market.
During 2023, she joined the cast of Who is Erin Carter? for Netflix. The production was filmed mainly on location in Barcelona and Sitges. The actress completed her shooting sessions in the summer of that same year under the supervision of the Curtis Brown agency.
