Lindsley Register didn't take the shortcut to the spotlight in Los Angeles. She trained at Liberty University in Virginia, where the rigor of the stage taught her that acting is a craft before it is a mystical aspiration. In 2014, she began taking on small projects that helped her refine a dry, direct style.
There was no sudden explosion of fame.
She worked on short films and episodic roles that taught her how a professional film set operates. In 2016, she played a young protester in the movie Loving, a brief but essential experience for seeing up close how a big-budget production is run.
But her real leap in scale came with cable television.
Her casting for the seventh season of The Walking Dead in 2016 permanently transformed her career. Register took on the role of Laura, one of the most prominent members of the Saviors faction. What initially seemed like a filler supporting character ended up spanning four years of intense filming in Georgia.
And the risk paid off.
Her character survived internal purges and all-out wars, which is rare in a show that chews up its actors quickly. In 2017, she juggled this job with the series Six, where she brought Dharma to life. That year was pivotal because she had to manage two highly demanding simultaneous shoots and endure fourteen-hour workdays on location.
Register understands that the value of a supporting actor lies in reliability.
In The Resident, during 2021, she played Nurse Proctor. It was a return to a more contained setting after years surrounded by special effects and horror makeup. But the actress already had her eyes on something else.
The entertainment industry tends to typecast those who spend a long time in a hit franchise. Register decided to break that inertia by taking on producing and writing roles so she wouldn't depend solely on her agent's calls. In 2022, she produced the short film Mouth to Mouth, a piece exploring complex personal dynamics far from commercial action.
Because creative control is the only real freedom in Hollywood.
Her work as a producer took shape on projects where the budget is stretched as far as possible. In 2024, she shot the movie The Hunt, maintaining a work ethic that prioritizes visual storytelling over artifice. Register doesn't use social media just to promote her image, but as a tool for transparency about what it costs to make an independent film today.
Her interests have shifted toward writing and managing her own projects from her base on the East Coast.
In 2025, she wrapped pre-production on a new original screenplay with an estimated budget of two million dollars.
