Leaving Ohio Behind

Lizze Broadway was born in Toledo, Ohio, in June 1998. There was no prior family tradition in the arts and no major industry connections to smooth her path to Los Angeles. Her father worked as a school principal, and she simply decided she wanted to be in front of a camera before she turned ten.

She won a children's talent contest, and that prompted her mother to move the family to California.

Her early work consisted of commercials and brief roles in standard procedural series. She appeared in Southland and Shameless during 2013, playing parts that barely required a couple of shooting days. Still, those small appearances taught her that physical comedy was her greatest asset. She shot more than ten pilots that never aired before achieving relative stability on American television.

The Stifler Name and a Change of Register

In 2020, she starred in American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules. Playing Stephanie Stifler meant carrying the weight of a franchise already showing signs of creative fatigue. The film went straight to streaming and home video, but critics praised her ability to sustain the humor without losing her charm.

And the phone began ringing with different offers.

She played Aurora on The Rookie for 2021 and appeared on Grown-ish. Those years were constant training, during which she learned to manage the schedules of big-budget productions. In Hollywood, talent is often secondary if you can't endure fourteen-hour days without losing your mark on the floor.

The Amazon Miniseries

Her big break came with the announcement of the Gen V cast in 2021. The project was a spin-off of The Boys, and she landed the role of Emma Meyer, a student with the ability to shrink. Filming in Toronto during 2022 required heavy use of green screens and practical effects to simulate her reduced size.

The series premiered in September 2023 and radically changed her standing in the industry.

Her character required a mix of vulnerability and dark comedy that connected with young audiences. In 2023, she also appeared in the film Ghosted, sharing the set with Ana de Armas and Chris Evans in a supporting role. Her main commitment, however, was tied to the Amazon production. Filming for the second season of the series began in 2024 after several logistical delays caused by the writers' strike and the death of one of their castmates.

The contract for the production of new episodes of Gen V included a temporary exclusivity clause that limited her appearances in other feature films during 2025. Her per-episode salary was estimated in the mid-to-high range for streaming superhero productions.
