At fifteen, Maia Reficco moved to Los Angeles to train her voice with Eric Vetro. She came from Buenos Aires but had been born in Boston. In her home, music was not a pastime but her mother's profession, and she quickly understood that the stage demands military discipline.
That technical discipline opened the doors of youth television to her in 2017. She starred in Kally's Mashup for Nickelodeon Latin America over two seasons and dozens of live concerts. Children's entertainment machinery often burns its performers with one-sided contracts, but Reficco used that platform to build up hours in front of the cameras without losing sight of the stage.
She wasn't looking for easy shortcuts.
In 2019, director Michael Arden cast her as young Eva Perón in the New York City Center production of Evita. She shared the role with Solea Pfeiffer in a demanding production that put her on the radar of Manhattan casting directors.
Shortly after, she made her definitive leap into the U.S. market with the series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin in 2022, later renewed as Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. As Noa Olivar, a high school athlete on probation, she broke the mold of the teen comedy actress to carry a dark thriller with slasher horror undertones.
That same year, she appeared in the Netflix dark comedy Do Revenge alongside Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes.
In 2024, she made her Broadway debut in the musical Hadestown, taking on the lead role of Eurydice at the Walter Kerr Theatre opposite Jordan Fisher as Orpheus. Eight weekly performances of complex music that made her level as a mezzo-soprano clear.
And the theater doesn't forgive studio tricks.
Her film strategy blended action drama with conventional romantic comedy. In 2024, she premiered the film One Fast Move on Prime Video, sharing the screen with KJ Apa and Eric Dane in a motorcycle racing story.
In 2025, she headlined La Dolce Villa for Netflix, shot in Tuscany under the direction of Mark Waters. That same year, she starred in the adaptation of the novel A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow.
Signed a record deal with Interscope Records in 2025 to manage her music production without television intermediaries. She wrapped up her stage career on Broadway after selling out all 975 seats at the Walter Kerr Theatre during her run.
