Robb Guinto didn't break into the screen by accident. Before film sets, there were fashion photographers and social media, where she built a following that caught the attention of Manila producers. Her entry into the Philippine industry in 2021 coincided with the boom of local streaming platforms looking for fresh faces for quick-hit content.
In Taya, she played a supporting role, but one strong enough for audiences to notice her gaze. In that market, competition is fierce and people are forgotten quickly without a special magnetism in front of the lens. She had it.
And that's how it all began.
That 2021 debut under director Roman Perez Jr. opened the doors of a relentless studio machine. Vivamax needed talent able to shoot intense dramas in record time, and Guinto fit the mold. But she didn't stop at the surface of repurposed modeling.
During 2022, her work pace was frantic, with titles such as Ex-Girlfriend and Secrets. In these low-budget, emotionally intense productions, she learned to handle the pressure of shoots that last just a couple of weeks. She signed contracts for more than five films in twelve months, and that toughens any performer who wants to survive the system.
Her most solid recognition came with Sitio Diablo in 2022. In this action film set in the underworld, she showed she could carry the weight of a violent plot without relying solely on her physical appearance. The director trusted her with scenes of a rawness that departed from her earlier work in romance.
The industry quickly typecast her in erotic films.
That label is hard to shake in contemporary Philippine cinema. But Guinto chose to turn it to her advantage by working with directors who care about aesthetics and narrative rhythm. In Bata Pa Si Sabel, also from 2022, she explored more vulnerable characters, far from the classic femme fatale. That way, she got viewers to see more than a pretty face on a billboard.
In 2023, she starred in Sila Ay Akin and Kiskisan to maintain her status as a leading figure in the digital catalog. These films are not after international awards or major reviews at European festivals, but massive views on mobile devices across Southeast Asia. Guinto surpassed two million followers on her digital profiles during that period of peak media exposure.
For 2024, her role in Bedspacer and Hibang confirmed she remained one of her production company's most profitable assets. The storylines became darker, and the characters required deeper psychological preparation than in her early days. But she kept her performances restrained, avoiding unnecessary melodrama.
And the gamble paid off.
Her career is defined by consistency and the ability to accept the rules of a game where content expires a week after its release. She is not after the immortality of film but the efficiency of the present. In total, she has taken part in 18 film productions through the end of 2024.
