Şifanur Gül was born in 1997 with a calling that brooked no argument. Before stepping onto a television set, she studied at the Faculty of Language, History and Geography at Ankara University. She studied theatrical acting because she wanted to master the text before the image.
Her professional debut came in 2019 with the series Sevdim Seni Bir Kere. She played Eylül in a breathlessly fast-paced daily production. She shot more than 150 episodes in a single year, and that experience gave her the grounding she needed to survive in the Turkish industry.
Theater was her first school.
But national television soon proved too small for her range. In 2020, she joined the cast of Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu, a big-budget historical drama. There she had to adapt her technique to the demands of period storytelling. Ankara's discipline remained present in every gesture.
The year 2023 was the definitive turning point for her visibility abroad. Gül starred in Terzi alongside one of the country's most in-demand actors. In this Netflix production she played Esvet and had to navigate a plot full of family secrets. The series reached the global top 10 within days, and her name started turning up in offices in Los Angeles.
That same 2023, she premiered Yaratılan, a miniseries directed by Çağan Irmak. The story was based on the Frankenstein myth but moved to the Ottoman Empire. It was a physical and emotional challenge that moved her away from conventional romantic comedy roles.
The camera doesn't forgive big mistakes.
So she chose to keep a low profile in the tabloid press to protect her dramatic career. By 2021, she had already appeared in Camdaki Kız, and in 2022 she joined Hayat Bugün. Every step was calculated to avoid being typecast in supporting roles with little depth.
In 2023 she also led the cast of Altın Kafes, playing Onur. It was a project for free-to-air television that aimed to win back the mass audience after her time on streaming. But the ratings in Turkey are merciless, and the series ended earlier than planned.
Despite the ups and downs of linear programming, she maintained her status. Her training lets her move between classic drama and modern thrillers without missing a beat. In 2024, she signed new representation deals to expand her work beyond Turkey.
And the gamble paid off.
Her exclusivity contracts usually include strict confidentiality clauses about the scripts. Şifanur Gül earns a per-day shooting fee that exceeds the average for actresses of her generation. In 2023, her social media presence reached eight hundred thousand followers without her buying any external marketing campaigns. Filming for her next international project began in May 2024 under a strict press embargo.
