Joaquín is a paraplegic man who lives alone in a house that has seen better days. He gets around in a wheelchair and spends his days in a gloom that mirrors his bitter disposition. The rooms are neglected, the furniture is worn, and the atmosphere is gloomy. Joaquín has placed an ad to rent a room, and when a knock comes at his door, Berta, a striptease dancer, and her daughter Betty are waiting outside. Their arrival disrupts the household routine. Their conversations, the everyday noises, and the presence of the little girl begin to reawaken the will to live that Joaquín had let fade. He, who had shut himself off from the world, is forced to share his daily life with two strangers who are about to take a place in it.
