Synopsis of Into the Night

Into the Night is a Belgian apocalyptic sci-fi series created by Jason George and released on Netflix. It begins with a night flight leaving Brussels for Moscow. Among the passengers are Sylvie Bridgette Dubois, a former military helicopter pilot, and Zara Oblonskaya, a Russian mother traveling with her sick son. Shortly after takeoff, Terenzio, an Italian NATO soldier, forces his way onto the plane and makes the pilot take off early. As the sun begins to kill everything it touches, the passengers try to survive by any means necessary, and distrust grows among them.

«The darkest hour is just before the dawn.»

Trivia about Into the Night

With this series, Netflix premiered its first original Belgian production, making it the platform's pioneer in that country.

The idea is inspired by the Polish science fiction novel The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj, published in 2015.

In Latin America, the series is also known as El camino de la noche, a title that differs from the original.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the first season a 88% approval rating, with an average score of 8.7/10 based on 18 reviews.

The spin-off Yakamoz S-245 is set alongside the first two seasons and began to be announced when Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ appeared as Arman in an episode of the second season.

The second season was announced on July 1, 2020, just two months after the series premiered, and arrived on Netflix on September 8, 2021.

Filming began with an international cast made up of performers from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia and Turkey.

Netflix announced the renewal through a video recorded virtually from the homes of several cast members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
